한글은 구조적 특성이 두드러지는 글자이지만, ‘레터링’은 이 특성을 넘어서는 형태적 확장이 가능하다. 이 작업은 ‘레터링’을 활용해 한글의 구조를 넘는 형태적 실험과 가능성을 보여주는 동시에, 읽는 사람의 경험에 따라 다르게 해석되는 활자가 가진 무한한 이미지와 상상을 표현한다. 문자 조합의 구조를 연상케 하는 12면 구조물에 글자를 거대한 크기로 설치해 글자의 형태와 의미가 주는 메시지를 관객에게 전달하고, 글자, 공간, 경험, 차원 등 여러 요소를 고려한 새로운 한글 전시 방식을 제안한다.
Hangeul is a letter with outstanding structural characteristics, but 'lettering' is able to extend its form beyond these characteristics. This work uses 'lettering' to show morphological experiments and possibilities beyond the structure of Hangeul, while also expressing the infinite images and imaginations of typography that are interpreted differently according to the reader's experience. By installing the letters(하늘=sky) in a huge size on a 12-sided structure reminiscent of the structure of a letter combination, the message of the shape and meaning of the letters is delivered to the audience, and a new Hangeul exhibition method that considers several factors such as letters, space, experience, and dimension is proposed.
